JÉNE NÉTE
A Collection of Poetry and Other Writings by the Shipibo Nation
Jéne Néte is a collection of poetry and short stories by the Shipibo community with the focus to preserve indigenous traditional art and language rooted in the "cosmo-vision" of the Shipibo Peoples. Translated in Spanish and English.
Jéne Néte is an art installation, a literary poetry book, and a website resource for authentic Shipibo audio recordings.
Jéne Néte is first of four, NON AXEBO (Our Customs) Series. Based on the Jéne Néte-World of Water dimension with over 30 poems and short stories written by the Shipbo community with photos and illustrations.
This is produced by a collaborative joint effort with non-profit organization Amazonicas Peruanas, Alianza Arkana, and artist Mike Saijo.
We have built the Jéne Néte "vision" with time, resources, and passion, but we need your help to bring it to life. No contribution is too small. Continue reading to learn more about our goal and how you can help make it a reality.
